Picking up where I left off 8 years ago.... what a year this has been!

So while 2014 has been a tough year of losing my hearing (almost completely for all practical purposes) ,  and finding out that my liver has sustained some serious damage from HCV,  putting it in borderline cirrhosis state, 2015 proved to be awesome in several ways:
I received cochlear implants in both ears which are both successful (to different extents), essentially giving me the GIFT OF HEARING again.  This is a HUGE deal for a musician, and for the conversationalist part of me that has missed being part of discussions and communication in general.
While my hearing isn't perfect,  the improvement is vastly superior to what hearing aids did for me before I went deaf, and obviously phenomenal compared to complete deafness.

In May and June,  I went through an 8 week treatment for Hepatitis C with a new (and super expensive) drug that has done miracles.  Within 10 days, my viral count went from 2700000 to less than 15,  by the end of the 8 weeks, it was undetectable (doesn't mean it's not there, but equipment just can't detect it).   12 weeks after treatment,  the virus was still undetectable.  Please pray that further tests will continue to stay negative as there are still chances of remission however tiny.

So these are two of the biggest personal blessings I'm counting for last year, although they're not the only ones.  I'm also thankful for experiencing blessings in our 15th year of marriage.  I'm thankful for the sweet moments and the new insights we have gained during this tough year.

All of that medical intervention, didn't come cheap (The cochlear implants alone cost as much as our house),  and while insurance, picked up most of the tab, we still had to pay a sizeable chunk, plus costs for the kids and Georgie's medical and dental treatments.  My wish for next year is that we might get back on track to getting out of debt financially,  and that we might be able to make progress in preparing our house for sale so that we could find something more suitable for our family.  I have a feeling these two things are mutually exclusive.  Not sure how to proceed, but we pray for wisdom.
